RIP Dolly Parton
An American hero.
I used to listen to her all the time when I would go snowboarding.
On the chairlift and ripping down the mountain, I would shout, "Jolene... Jolene.... Jolene, JOLEEEEEENE!"
Read her book too. She was a strong woman who didn't take shit from people.
Growing up in the music industry at that time, as a woman, trying to break new ground in country music like she did, must've been insanely hard.
She was a sweet woman, though. Maybe that was her superpower... finding a way to get stuff done while being a kind person.
Not to mention the fact that she was a brilliant musician with an incredible voice.
She died too young, only 80 years on this earth. I will continue to listen to her music until my death.
